Location and CONTACTS
Parioli is the second district of Rome. The name derives from the denomination of “Monti Parioli”, given to a group of tuffaceous hills before the urbanization of the area, which took place at the beginning of the twentieth century. Some say that the name derives from peraioli, due to the cultivations of pear trees that were there.
In the Parioli district it is possible to visit some places of interest, including: the Parco della Rimembranza, the Acetosa water park (where part of the sports facilities of the 1960 Olympics were created), the old pigeon shooting under piazzale delle Muse and part of the neighboring park of Villa Ada. There is also the private Luiss University and a series of highly specialized private medical centers. Among the works carried out, the construction of Renzo Piano’s Auditorium stands out in 1995, and the small archaeological museum born with the discovery of the remains of an ancient Roman villa.
