Location and CONTACTS
QUARTIERE SAN PAOLO
The San Paolo neighborhood is located in the southern area of Rome, close to the city’s historic center. The neighborhood is named after the Basilica of San Paolo Fuori le Mura, one of Rome’s most important Christian places of worship.
The San Paolo neighborhood is characterized by a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. The area is served by several public transportation lines, including Rome’s Metro Line B and numerous bus lines.
In addition to the Basilica of San Paolo Fuori le Mura, the neighborhood also houses the Non-Catholic Cemetery of Rome, where many famous people are buried, including the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley and the English painter John Keats.
The neighborhood is also famous for the Porta Portese Market, which takes place every Sunday morning and attracts many visitors looking for vintage clothing, antique objects, and souvenirs.
QUARTIERE OSTIENSE“The Ostiense neighborhood of Rome is located in the southwestern part of the city, near the San Paolo neighborhood. The neighborhood is named after Via Ostiense, one of Rome’s main arterial roads that connects the city center with the port of Ostia.
The Ostiense neighborhood was one of Rome’s main industrial centers during the 20th century, with numerous factories and plants operating in the area until the 1980s. Today, many of these factories have been converted into cultural and commercial spaces, giving rise to a very lively and dynamic neighborhood.
The area features many tourist attractions, including the Central Museum of the Risorgimento, the Verano Monumental Cemetery, and the Pyramid of Cestius, an ancient Roman funerary monument.
The Ostiense neighborhood is also home to the Roma Ostiense railway station, one of the city’s main transportation hubs, connecting Rome with many national and international destinations, such as the port of Civitavecchia and Fiumicino Airport.”
